Access Statement

Corbar Bank is a Victorian family home and our guest accommodation is located on the first floor of our recently extended property accessed via a carpeted staircase with banister rail.
We are committed to ensure an appropriate accommodation service for prospective guests with disabilities but due to the layout of Corbar Bank, we lack facilities for guests with severe mobility limitations.

We welcome any enquiries from guests with disabilities so we can discuss their needs and all reasonable attempts will be made to meet these.

  • Corbar Bank is located approximately 10 minutes from Buxton Railway Station and is on a bus route.
  • We are happy to collect guests from the train station or local bus stop.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • The house number and is displayed on the front gate post.
  • Car parking is available immediately outside the house.
  • The surface of the driveway is tarmac.
  • The front door to the accommodation is accessed by descending 8 stone steps.
  • There is a step up into the hallway.
  • There is a front doorbell to allow access.

Main Entrance, Reception

  • There is no alternative entrance.
  • There is a side hung front door opening into a large hallway.
  • The hall flooring is wood laminate.
  • The hallway is well lit.
  • A pen and paper pad will be made available on request.

Public Areas – Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

  • Accommodation is on the first floor.
  • There are three steps up to a first landing followed by four steps to a  further landing, then one step to a further landing, then eleven steps to the front door of the accommodation.
  • All steps and landings comply with current accessibility regulations.
  • Stairways and landings have fitted carpets.
  • There is no lift.
  • There is no public telephone but guests are welcome to use the house telephone.

  • Fire doors are fitted as appropriate.
  • The bedroom, living accommodation and kitchen facilities are all within one room.
  • There are no hand rails or toilet adaptations.
